I picked my 3 year old filly up a week ago after being started under saddle by Jimmy. This week I have ridden her in an arena, in a forestry block over flat ploughed paddocks and hills. In just 2 weeks Jimmy has produced a lovely soft, forward horse who is a pleasure to work with. She's a typical green horse with some quirks to iron out but the groundwork has been done beautifully by Jimmy and she has come back to me with a willing attitude.

Jimmy recently started a young mare for me, I am blown away at how light and responsive she is under saddle, when she is a wary horse towards people on the ground. Once in the saddle she just gets on with the job . Very happy with the horse he has produced. Definitely be happy to send more horses for Jimmy to start under saddle.

I thought I wouldn’t have the confidence to break in my young colt, but I surprised myself. I continue applying the things you taught me. My filly is doing amazing! No more buck and even perfect for kids and beginners. So happy with her.

Wow, what a weekend! We took a horse to Jimmy to be started. While dropping him off, Hannah gently encouraged me to bring my own horse when we picked him up and do a clinic with them. (I had lost some confidence with my mare after a fall.) 2 weeks later we went back to pick our horse up and did 2 clinics, over the course of the weekend. My husband rode our newly started horse and was very impressed at what CJ had learned in 2 short weeks. I loved the way Jimmy worked with us and my confidence in myself and my horse has improved tremendously. We did lots of things I did not think possible, and I now have a much better relationship with my mare! Thank You both so much!

What can I say, Jimmy is the man , on their travels up north Jimmy n Hannah spent 3 days with us on our friends farm starting our young filly. I’ve never met anyone who is so spiritually connected to the horses he works with, it’s absolutely incredible watching the progression throughout the process. Highly recommend him , such an awesome, humble dude. Absolutely enjoyed the company and can’t wait to see you again in the Far north. Thanks heaps

Hi Hannah and Jimmy. I just thought i would let you know that I didn't expect miracle results with Blake when I booked him in for a restart clinic with Jimmy as he is 18 years old, but I sure have got them. I cant thank you both enough for the outstanding results that Jimmy has achieved. Blake is a completely different horse. He doesn't crowd or push me around. Since the clinic finished which was on Thursday we have been to the beach twice ridden over farmland and been for a road ride. I have done heaps of cantering on a loose rein with other horses overtaking him with no negative effects. Nearly been in a gallop twice. Got a beautiful extended trot out of him and am able to get a canter from a standstill. He literally hasn't put a foot wrong. I definitely will keep up the ground work as I know Blake could easily revert back to his old ways.

Highly recommend Jimmy, he’s now backed three of our young horses and they’ve all come back easy to handle and ride. Couldn’t be happier with the job he’s done

I met jimmy very recently and was able to watch him doing some training on a young horse. He is a true horse whisperer and his technique is incredible to witness. I have not ridden a horse for over 20 years due to a serious back injury and expressed to Jimmy how much I missed it. With jimmies experience and talent I felt very comfortable and trusted him even though I was very green and nervous. Your riding lesson was so valuable and now I have my confidence back. I had the best four day clinic up at Jimmy Braithwaite. Not only did I get my confidence back, I got pushed out of my comfort zone. I learnt the importance of doing things before getting onto a green horse and why you need to do them.
I would highly recommend anyone who wanted to restart their horse go to Jimmy's four day clinic and you wont regret it. But have your big undies on course jimmy will be straight up front with you. It is definitely money well spent.

My husband and I attended a 3 day clinic at Jimmy and Hannah's idyllic home. Firstly, the accommodation exceeded our expectations! the cabins are decorated beautifully, with all that you could need! Comfortable bedding, with separate modern shower, kitchen and living area with books galore!
Jimmy has an amazing way with horses, and humans too. Jimmy is incredibly generous with his time and sharing of knowledge and resources. Being empathetic when those emotions get the better of ya, and able to graciously push you through it at the same time. I will definitely be returning to learn more from Jimmy, and if I'm ever in the market for another horse, Jimmy's my man!

Just finished a weekend with Jimmy. We took down our 5yr old for a restart clinic and our older mare for a confidence clinic. Had such an awesome time! Learnt a lot, and came home with heaps of exercises to continue working with both our horses. Go in with an open mind and willingness to learn and you will definitely come home with a smile on your face.
The cabins are beautiful to stay in and Jimmy & Hannah make you feel so welcome. Love the array of animals you meet on their farm.
Would definitely recommend Jimmy to anyone wanting help with starting or restarting a horse!

I had the privilege to do a one on one clinic with Jimmy and my two horses the first week in March 2020. Jimmy worked with my young, inexperienced horse. I had had a fall from him a couple of months previously and that affected my confidence to ride him. Jimmy is a great teacher and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. i learnt so much and it boosted my confidence. I came away very much inspired to do the best I can with my horses.

I participated in a 2 day clinic with 2 of my horses, one of which Jimmy worked and rode for me. I had a fabulous experience learning so much it was fascinating and the time went way to quickly. I have come home and the horse that Jimmy rode is so much more relaxed and supple. Hannah was an incredible host and I am very much looking forward to the next one. Highly highly recommended

Just wanted to say how happy we are with the horse we bought from you !!
He has settled in well and seems to enjoy getting out on the farm and doing stock work – he handled docking with scrims flying everywhere !
Looking forward to having our daughter riding him over the summer and hopefuly getting him jumping.

Heard about Jimmy and his clinics through the grapevine a couple months ago so I got into a confidence clinic soon after, came away from that clinic absolutely buzzing. So for two months after that clinic I searched for a horse that I could do his starting clinic with and really get out of my comfort zone. Two weeks ago I found Stevie. A young rising 4 year old filly, fairly sizey, and when I saw her in the yards for the first time I thought "what have I got myself into".. Haha
Jimmy you have helped me do things I never thought I'd have the confidence to do. Whatever you told me to do, I had such faith and trust in you I didn't think twice. Not many people have that effect on me. It's great to have people like you to give you that "push" you need sometimes. I'll definitely never forget this experience, Stevie and I are both so lucky. I had no idea what to expect when we dropped off our young horse but as soon as he laid a hand on her she “knew” she this guy was very different to us and knew a lot more than we did.... She showed him immediate respect. You only have to read Jimmies bio to find that it’s not what he has done with horses it’s what he hasn’t done....with well measured touch you could just feel his years of experience with handling horses. So we came back 2 weeks later and we could not believe the difference, it was like dropping off a Vauxhall viva and getting back a Porsche...all her bad habits like, coming forward, being “bargy”, lifting her head when we tried to put the bridle on, wouldn’t lift her feet, bucking when riding, were gone! and in place was something we valued above all, was a safe horse to handle and a delight to ride...I was amazed how she gained these bad habits after we “left her out” for 2 years after she was initially handled. Jimmie calls it “sitting on the couch”. The clinics were so helpful afterwards teaching us carefully with such patience and humour. We learnt so much that gave us a whole tool bag to take home and use. Thanks again so much Jimmie, it was a highlight of our year. xxx

Jimmy started my mare for me and what he achieved in two weeks was unbelievable!! I was so impressed. I was fortunate to be able to do one of his clinics at the end of the break in which I found so beneficial learning what stage she was at whilst having jimmy right there. Also the accommodation and set up at the clinic was absolutely brilliant. I’m so happy I choose to send her to Jimmy and will be recommending him to anyone!!

Wow what an AMAZING experience! I took my 13yr old daughter to Jimmys clinic over the weekend with her cheeky pony which was a bit green.. Jimmy has given Lucy way more confidence so she feels alot more in control of the pony now.. he has past on some amazing knowledge to help keep herself safe around her pony as Lucy has had 3 triple bypass cardiac surgerys the last thing mum an dad want is for her to come off her pony so thankyou Jimmy we are definatley booking Lucy in again in the near future 🙂
